Then how abou this: Krayt is Jacen's body, but with Threepio's malfunctioning behaviour core instead of a brain. That's why he is dying -he needs an oil bath. But a Krayt dragon ate the Lars' homestead, so now he's royally screwed -unless he can get Cade to turn him in to a real boy.

Darth Krayt is a clone of Jean-Luc Picard that got created during his captivity with the Borg (the missing eye!) and was warped to Tatooine during the NJO because of the altered timeline in the Star Trek-Universe. And because he's a Trekkie, the original Sith Lords despise him.

Heck maybe the deceased DLOTS might actually pay some attention to Krayt if he takes on a Skywalker as an Apprentice

Because having a skywalker as an apprentice has worked sooo well in the past.

The DLOTS would just get further ammo to heckle Krayt with. Something about repeating mistakes of the one sith lord that was so thoroughly wiped out that he doesn't even have a presence on Korriban.
