[18:44] <+madclaway> Rhys-Davies = CAL OMAS
[18:44] <Tyber> nah
[18:44] <@Ozzel> Ooh, I'd go for that.
[18:45] <IFYLOFD> But he needs to have his Gimli beard.
[18:45] <Tyber> and the axe
[18:48] <@Havac> Don't be ridiculous.
[18:48] <@Havac> Paul Newman is Omas. Period.
[18:48] <Tyber> paul.
[18:48] <Tyber> newman.
[18:49] <Tyber> huh.
[18:49] <IFYLOFD> Paul Newman is dead.
[18:50] <IFYLOFD> Mr. T is Cal Omas.
[18:50] <Tyber> Mr. T plays WoW
[18:50] <IFYLOFD> Mr. T is a knight-elf-mohawk.
[18:51] <Tyber> so Cal Omas is a knight-elf-mohawk

[01:37] <@LordHydronium> You know, at least things will be happening in Revelation.
[01:38] <@LordHydronium> The worst thing about Sacrifice is how little takes place.
[01:38] <@LordHydronium> Fett goes to Kuat, roughs some people up, finds some Mandalorian iron, and they build a starship.
[01:38] <@LordHydronium> WOO HIGH OCTANE EXCITEMENT THERE
[01:38] <@LordHydronium> Oh, and I think he has dinner with some gay guys once.
[01:39] <+Sinister|LeonTP> Were there any dugs?
[01:39] <@LordHydronium> Dugs or drugs?
[01:39] <+Sinister|LeonTP> Dugs.
[01:39] <@LordHydronium> And the answer to both is "No."
[01:40] <+Sinister|LeonTP> Then yes, I can see how it'd be boring.
[01:40] <@LordHydronium> No Dougs either.
[01:40] <@LordHydronium> Or dogs.
[01:40] <@LordHydronium> There is, however, a dig.
[01:40] <+Sinister|LeonTP> I don't think I've ever actually met a Doug in my life.
[01:41] <@Ozzel> I knew a Doug.
[01:42] <@LordHydronium> Seriously, can you imagine Traviss looking at Star Wars and seeing lasers! Spaceships! Fighting! Action! and deciding, "What my book really needs is Boba Fett in a dinner scene on a farm"?
[01:42] <@Ozzel> Yes.
[01:43] <+DoctorBadWolf> can you imagine Traviss looking at anything and deciding anything that is logical?

Well, it's like this, see--

When Jacen was sitting down and writing up his new, official Dark Lord Of The Sith character sheet, he decided to put as few points as possible into actual Force powers, and all that he could into the ability of "Make My Opponents Act Like Idiots."

Unfortunately, to get more points, he also took the Insane and Incompetent character flaws. He really should have re-rolled the chance cubes.

But, in any case, since the new contract will be announced soon, let's speculate on what we'll be seeing, no? Here are some of my predictions...

Darth Krayt: Path of Destruction: A Novel of the... Newest... Republic: Fan-favourite Drew Karpyshyn returns to retell the events of Issues #1 and 8 of Legacy... but in a different order!

Separatist Commando: Karen Traviss has been commissioned to write twelve new books next year, beginning with the four-volume Separatist Commando series! Get inside the heads of Specialist Droid Units, and see the Clone Wars in a tough and gritty new light. If you liked RepCom, you'll love SepCom!

Some book... by Troy Denning... after LOTF: Troy Denning returns to write a book, about... the Jedi, and stuff, that features Saba in a large role, and probably Tenel Ka, too... um, Zekk might come back, he likes writing about Zekk... yeah, that will probably happen.

One thing I do like about Ben's GAG past is that it really makes him his mother's son as well as his father's. Sure, he's a Skywalker with all the potential yada yada yada, but he was also the naive follower/personal assassin of a fascist Sith Lord, just like Mom. --dizfactor

Hi, I'm Luke Skywalker... have we met?

Great, great.. nice to meet you. You know, it's funny, I JUST sent my niece on the EXACT SAME MISSION that the last two Jedi Masters in the Galaxy -- my two teachers by the way -- sent me on before they died. They wanted me to kill my dad, because he was more machine now than man; twisted and evil. I needed to kill him or else the Emperor won.

So they made me into a weapon, sent me off and when I got there, you know what? Right when I could have ended the fight, I chose not to. I chose to believe, after all indications to the contrary mind you -- heck, I'd even told him that "Anakin Skywalker was truly dead" only a few hours before that -- that killing him would only serve to enhance the darkness in me and that merely by defeating him and not killing him, I would win and the Light would conquer. Made myself a Jedi Knight there. 'course, y'know, it HURT with all that Force Lightning afterwards with the pain and the suffering and the hey hey hey it hurts me, but then my dad turned back to the light after having seen me make the choice he couldn't and tossed that mean Emperor down a giant shaft.

Yes, I realize how phallic that sounds.

Hmmm... One thing I'm curious about: if Luke can Force-vision-manipulate Jacen, why couldn't he push Jacen towards being redeemed? Oh, and incidentally, this enables us to reinterpret the visions Jacen has in Betrayal. From Invincible, we know that a powerful Force-user can easily manipulate his Force-visions. --J_K_DART

Probably because Jacen is an evil kriffer. --Charlemagne19

<Enochf> The lack of media tie-ins make NJO and LOTF seem... unreal somehow
<Enochf> Where are the comics? The games? The coloring books?
<Enochf> "Hey, kids, paint Chewbacca's last fleeting moments of life!"
<Ozzel> Ooh, Vong activity books.
<Enochf> "Now paint Anakin getting hacked to bits by amphistaffs!"
<LO|Away> Mutilate the Vong
<The4dotelipsis> "It's the Cal Omas suicide playset!"
<The4dotelipsis> "Ailyn Vel interrogation LEGO Playset!"
<Enochf> The only YV toys are those little guys from the Miniatures sets.
<The4dotelipsis> "Flick the switch to pound Ailyn's head into the desk repeatedly! See how quickly you can make it fly off!"
<Ozzel> Or just have a video game where you kill everyone, the bigger the character, the more points you get.
<LO|Away> "Jacen and Ben action figures with fully articulated Embrace of Pain"
<Muuurgh> "Determine the coordinates of the Wookiee cities for Darth Caedus!"
<The4dotelipsis> "Admiral Niathal plushie!"
<LO|Away> "Tarfang plushie!"
<Enochf> Well, I might actually get the Tarfang plushie
