<Muuurgh> They canceled Rebellion for this?
<LordHydronium> "Star Wars: Rebellion will not be returning, Stradley said to the apparent dismay of several in the audience. Stradley later explained that Rebellion is cancelled for two reasons. First, he said that he has a “never ending struggle to keep the line fresh and not fall into the same stuff happening every month.” Additionally, the timeline was taking the comics into “really continuity...

<LtNOWIS> Once again, canon inhibits the ability of writers to tell good stories
<LtNOWIS> Karpyshyn was right.
<LordHydronium> Nowis, sometimes I suspect none of your stated positions are what you actually think, up to and including your political beliefs. :P

<Cull_Tremayne> I'm sure his check goes out to Able. Do Rebels get checks?
<Havac> I think they get some kind of compensation.
<Havac> Though it's probably crap.
<LO|Hereish> Leia whores herself out as payment
<LO|Hereish> Oh wait, that might just be from some porn I saw.
<LtNOWIS> Yeah, I thought that sounded familiar...

<Trip> the American Revolution is actually a good analogy for the Rebellion
<LordHydronium> The American Revolution was secessionist, though.
<LtNOWIS> Right.
<Trip> the Rebellion would be like us winning the war, then sailing to the UK to conquer it and burning down the palace
<LtNOWIS> We weren't gunning for London
<Trip> I mean, analogy for why the Rebellion sucks :P
<LordHydronium> Ah.
<Jello> Yeah, pretty much
<LordHydronium> The Clone Wars were closer to what we did.
<Jello> and destroying every single British-affiliated colony too
<LtNOWIS> Except without the Evil
<LordHydronium> Franklin was secretly controlling both sides.
<LtNOWIS> [After we take Britain]. "You're next, Bermuda!"
<Trip> lol
<LtNOWIS> Although we did try to invade Canada, remember.
<LordHydronium> Jello: And prosecuting the Lords as traitors? :P
<Trip> after a random terrorist nukes the Sandwich Islands:
<Trip> "Well, those goddamn Hawai'ians had it coming."
<Trip> India = the Pentastar Alignment
<Trip> :D
<Jello> Cornwallis = treason
<Jello> hahaha, Franklin
<Jello> someone better qdb this whole thing
<LtNOWIS> I think they had Australia too at that time
<Jello> yeah, but Australia was like Despayre
<Jello> they blew it up
<Jello> along with the US's peace loving ally, France
<Jello> Destroyed. By the British Empire.
<Jello> :p
<LtNOWIS> 1757 – 1858 = Company Rule in India, which counts as Britain.
<LtNOWIS> Slightly different, like the Pentastar guys
<Trip> precisely
Jello> oh, and Maggie Thatcher unleashes a virus that only afflicts black people
<Trip> heh, so after Yorktown, we executed Cornwallis
<Jello> (yes Thatcher is THAT OLD)

<GreenTentacle> Juno's article is rather image heavy.
<GreenTentacle> You'd think we'd never seen a hot blond in an Imperial uniform before.
<JorrelFraajic> Have we?
<GreenTentacle> Deena. ;)
<JorrelFraajic> Ah.
<JorrelFraajic> But is she partnered with someone who kicks ass... with the Force?
<GreenTentacle> She's been getting friendly with Luke lately.
<GreenTentacle> Clearly not going to work out.

<Trip> I guess, to be honest, the Tatooine celebration makes the least sense
<Trip> Since it's in the ass-end of nowhere
<Trip> And nobody gives a fuck about the Empire
<LtNOWIS_> Trip, Tatooine was a major Rebel planet.
<LtNOWIS_> That's why they had so many bases there.
<Trip> Nowis, oh yeah, I forgot

Rebellion #5 was delayed when someone at Lucas Arts pointed out to the author that Luke Skywalker later redeems Vader, is instrumental in destroying the Emperor and rest of the Empire, starts a new jedi order and has adventures in his 60's and beyond. The original plan was for the hero of the battle of Yavin to be killed by "Tank" with a laser blast to the back of the head. The author was asked questions like "Who is Yoda", "Does Luke have a Twin Sister, and if so who is it?", and "What do you think of Anakin's redemption". He answered "No"!, "NO WAY! Leia couldn't handle a Sister in Law!", and "Huh?". It turns out he had only seen the original Star Wars movie and thought he was writing a sort of screenplay to a sequel to it.

"And as the Black Beast [aka Tank] lurched forward, escape for Arthur [Luke] and his knights [the Rebels] seemed hopeless, when suddenly, the animator suffered a fatal heart attack!"
The comic peril was no more.
The quest for the Holy Grail [cleaning from the New Order] could continue.
